Best Homemade Playdough
One of my son's favourite activities is playing with playdough. It's the perfect indoor activity as well. Kids of all ages love playdough - even adults (I know I do). I love to see a child's imagination at work when playing with playdough.
What's makes this recipe the best?
Super soft & squishy but not sticky
Lasts for MONTHS in a zip top bag
Inexpensive
Yields enough for 4-5 kids
You can add different colours & scents to customize it

Ingredients
2 cups of all purpose flour
3/4 cup of salt
4 tsps of cream of tartar
2 cups of lukewarm water
2 Tbps of vegetable oil (coconut oil works too)
(optional) Food colouring - the more colours the better (I prefer Wilton Gel Food Colouring but any will do)
Quart sized bags
Instructions
Mix together the flour, salt, and cream of tartar in a large pot. Next, add the water and oil. If you're only making one colour, add in the food colouring now as well.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Continue stirring until the dough has thickened and begins to form into a ball.
Remove from heat and place onto some wax paper or a gallon sized bag.
Allow to cool slightly and then knead until smooth.
If you're adding food colouring, divide into balls (for the number of colours you want) and add the dough into the quart sized bags.
Start with about 5 drops of colour and add more as desired to brighten the colour.
Knead the dough inside the quart sized bag so the food colouring doesn't stain your hands and the kids can help too.
Once it's all mixed up to your desired colour, you're ready to PLAY!
